Norway Family Reunion
	Taking the Ferry to Trandal, Norway! The little patch of land on the left is where we are headed. My grandfather (Kristian Trandal) grew up here along with his siblings and their children. He was the oldest son, leaving home very young to join the Norwegian Merchant Marines and fight in WWII. He had a photo of his home here on the wall of the foot of the bed. He looked at it every morning and every night. He told me so many stories about growing up here. We stayed here for most of the trip. It was as though he were with me as I stayed and met my Norwegian family. A very happy time. April 2010

	Cousin Olav. Olav doesn't know he is being recorded. He knows my mother is a big Elvis fan so he was entertaining her. Olav is a professional fisherman. When he said "his fingers don't work" he later explained to me that when working on a ship in the cold with a bunch of men, sometimes pieces of the fishhooks break off in his fingers. There is no time to complain about stuff like that while working on a ship with a bunch of strong men. Long story short, the broken fishooks are still there, broken off in his calloused fingers.
